The Girl With the Blue Feathered Earring By: Curvy Red Gurl

It was about a year ago when I first came across Amberdawn on Twitter, I started following her and she eventually she followed me back.

What started then was a friendship that I treasure dearly. Amberdawn is a poetess, singer, model, photographer, and civil rights activist. She’s independent and works hard daily, not only in her community but also developing her online brand.

Ladies and gentlemen, without further ado allow me to present:

Amberdawn, The Curvy Red Gurl.

The Girl With The Blue Feathered Earring

Staring into racks of old dreams and new expectations
colorful things with hidden stains in places only speaking of pasta remains.
I turned the corner and came across, her I probably should not tell you this story
there I go doubting myself again but the way I saw her some might say was objectification.
To me she was the muse I had been missing the ebony skin of eternal galaxies starlight vision
To me she was the muse I had been missing the ebony skin of eternal galaxies starlight vision
she had a blue feathered earring, one hand on an orange summer dress
fingers hidden in a sily fabric, the other a delicately sculpted set of phalanges
bringing her palm past her perfectly aligned neck
her blue feathered earring fluttered.
Thick black hair braided into a rose on the top of her head
like a fairy she sparkled.
Who needs a painting of a girl with a pearl earring
here was a flawless Queen & a blue feathered earring fluttering gently.
She was midnight moon & morning sun
her voice a recovery tonic after to many drinks.
I was in AWE, I stood there silently listening to her speak
hypnotized by that blue feathered earring.
I surveyed her beauty like she was a map & I a TOPOGRAPHY STUDENT
each curve suggesting a destination & a CAUSE
she was beauty incarnate & I WANTED TO GET LOST!
Her lips heart shaped pink vibration slightly glossed with strawberry sedation
For the moment of pause I dared to think what it would be like to feel that braid
to move across my breasts as her lips discovered places only lovers touch
The moment was brief but oh so sweet
as that little Feminist would not shut up & kept SCREAMING STOP OBJECTIFYING HER!
To me she will always be The Girl With The Blue Feathered Earring.

The Missing-

Rolling with the times they keep changing like rhymes
got a dictionary on the floor and a thesaurus by the door.
The wind blows you might get a little more
but stand to close and she'll run off leaving the chores.
Your socks on the floor where you threw them each night
she was tired of the fight, at least of feeling alone, right?

So one day she packed a cheap bag, upped & ran like a fright.
You came home strawberries in hand hoping to set things straight
it's the honeymoon cycle tonight.
Seeing her gone brought the usual rage
the only thing left, the smell of her shampoo
now what is a man supposed to do when he only knows how to be cruel?
The one that he wanted has run away & still he responds
his emotionless play.
Processing through pure fury & pain he'll never let her get away.

The wife he was knocking took her boots & went a walking,
the neighbors say it was the sound of the cocking
& to soon she was found in an unmarked grave.
When a young pup came upon her the very next spring
and it seemed her bones had weathered and been eaten away.
Gnaw marks of coyotes & possibly a bear.
When we come upon the scars of man we question the where,
the why and the when, the asking of is there a God?
Are you there, my friend?

Choices -

Life in the attic It’s where I live now.
Choices I have made this bed I now lay.
A consequence, or grave?
Reminders of love, who tells us how,
Is there an instruction book I missed?
Was it handed out while I daydreamed of being kissed?
These answers escape me,
I might be having a sad day.
In this attic, where I live now.

To Love or Not to Love-

We come from every corner, we travel across the globe.
We are united in our needs but separated by our beliefs.
We want to connect and many of us do
but we still hold back from loving the way we were meant too.

-Amberdawn (Curvy Red Gurl)

The Cure-

Got a brand-new grind
making time to get what's mine
not gonna stand behind
any gas-lighting narcissistic kinds.
Been around longer than they said I would
doing my thing and looking good.
It's my happy time
time to show some minds
more to me than meets the eye
express some gratitude for sure
dive deep to share the cure.

Poetry Reading: The Girl With the Blue Feather Earring

Review

I have no words that can come close to describing my admiration to Amberdawn. I knew from the first time I seen her read her poetry and heard her sing on YouTube that she was special.

❤❤❤❤❤

After a few communications online my respect and admiration for her Independence, her spirit, and her talent grew. Such energy, such enthusiasm, she is the embodiment of Iggy Pops Lust for life. Although she hasn’t published a book (yet) her music can be purchased and downloaded on most online streaming services.

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

If her body of work was in print, resting between two book covers she would be getting a 5 star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ from me on Goodreads and Amazon. As of now it is not, hopefully one day it will happen because she has so many amazing talents that the world needs right now!

🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

I can’t stop singing her praises, I am a fan!!

If you haven’t checked her out you should. Please see the links below.

You can follow Amberdawn on her variety of social media outlets. She is a hard working lady and you will not be disappointed.

What Would God Think: Connected by: Luna Walter

Johnny– Having read your book, I know where this idea came from, but, if you don’t mind give us the elevator pitch about your book and where the idea came from.

Luna- I never meant to write a novel and that is the absolute truth! The first and major part of this dream came to me one very warm night in May, just before my birthday and it traumatized me! I became completely obsessed with the story and in trying to work out what it all meant. Why had I dreamed about genetically modified human clones, who were in some wired three-way relationship with a woman who looked a bit like me?

Most of all though I was obsessed with the feeling of absolute love I had experienced all night long. I felt a sudden emptiness and awareness that I was very unhappy, lonely and above all not in love and I wanted what Zak, Joe and Bella had.

This new desire the dream had given me for absolute love, was mixed up with a lot of sexual feelings and a new curiosity for this bazaar three-way love affair and the connection that the three main characters had with each other. I wanted to feel connected and I wanted to feel loved and I wanted passion. I started my novel by making clay models, quite erotic threesome poses of people entwined, and I started drawing pictures.

I spent a whole year drawing images to record my dream, and the story started to make sense to me. Drawing the pictures helped me to sort out a lot of my own issues, it gave me a kind of ‘awakening’.

Then I went back into the dream one night almost a year later and it became a reoccurring nightmare for a while. It was only at the point when I knew I had come to the end of the story that I decided to ‘pin’ words to my pictures, and it began to develop into the novel it is today.

I will be giving a more detailed explanation of how writing Zak and Joe’s life, relates to my own life, as I post it along with the drawings on Patreon every few weeks.

Johnny– I’m amazed at the fact that you say you are not a writer, what made you decide to step past your painting and start writing?

Luna- I had to write, as to print pictures is very expensive and to finish pictures to a standard good enough for printing, incredibly time consuming! I think my story would make a better film than a book and may be someone will see all the drawings one day and use them like a ‘story board’ to turn it into a movie or a series. I stepped past my painting because words were necessary in the end and once I started writing I loved it, and I couldn’t stop.

Johnny– Do you consider yourself a writer now?

Luna- No, but I have learned so much by writing this novel and my writing has really improved. As someone who has always struggled with sever dyslexia it has been great to go through the process of producing two books, but I would not do it again! It is way too expensive and I could not afford too. I have written a lot of poems in my life which I enjoyed, and I made some illustrated children’s books. I still consider myself to be an artist and not a writer though.

Johnny– This book is (in my opinion) controversial, what kind of feed back have you received from people who have read this?

Luna- I know it is very controversial and I warn people about this regularly when I post on social media. Luckily, I have only had really good feedback so far. I think that this is because I regularly post drawings which give away the controversial aspects of the story. People who do not like the sexual /violent, element of the story probable will not be tempted to buy it as they can tell clearly from the illustrations that the story will be alternative. My novel is also £10 to buy, so I imagine anyone who is considering reading it will check that they are going to enjoy the content before buying. There are so many free options to read out there as an alternative. Anyway, life is controversial, and I think that people are more open minded in general these days.

I was mostly worried about the violence shown towards Bella, the ‘heroin’ of the novel. The fact that she stays with her abusers and keeps loving them, doesn’t make her a great role model. I was concerned this might be giving the wrong message, along with the ‘people can change’, message when in truth they rarely do. This concern is one of the reasons it took me so many years to publish the books, but in the end, I just felt I had to, even though it still makes me feel uncomfortable.

Johnny– I know this came to you in an (for lack of a better term) continual dream, I’m wondering, do you think this was some sort of psychic communication? If so, from where? Or do you think this was just a dream?

Luna- The dream really helped me as did writing it, so it was like a gift to me, and I do have a belief that there is more to life than just flesh and bone and chemical reactions, so maybe there was some sort of psychic communication. I am a little shy to go into this too deeply though, religion is a tricky subject. I called the book “What Would God Think?” and that has confused people into thinking the book will have a strong religious content, which it really doesn’t. It poses questions, but there is no real answer.

Johnny– Personally, this book made me think. The more I thought about it the more I admire you for writing it. There had to be some turmoil, some internal conflict, how hard was this book to write?

Luna- It was incredibly hard to write, and I cried when I had my first five-star review from a stranger in America, who had read and loved my story.

There has been a lot of turmoil in my life and I have asked some of my friends and family never to read my novel. I know they will recognize aspects of the story that relate to real life issues and this could upset them. No one in my place of work knows that I have written a book, and my name is not Luna Walter.

The mind is a fascinating thing, and dreams are even more fascinating. I am glad I decided to record my dream and share my story with the world. With every person who has read and understood my novel, I feel like I step a little closer to fixing my soul.

review

I can’t say enough about this book, let me start by saying wow!

First this book is beautiful written and the illustrations are perfection. What a beautiful work of art this book turned out to be.

This is open minded fiction at its best.

What I really enjoyed most about this book was how smoothly the story progresses, it is written in a style that is seamless and easy to follow. As controversial as the topic of human cloning is Luna has penned a book that has set my mind to musing about the subject on a daily basis.

I also find it hard to believe that Luna does not consider herself to be a writer, I have to disagree with her on this topic because SHE IS a writer, a GREAT WRITER!

This book and it’s author gets a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me!

There are some parts that might trigger some reader but for me the whole story worked out in the end.

I truly enjoyed reading this book and can’t wait to read the second in the series.

Highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys reading really good fiction, totally suitable for YA fiction fans as well as mystery, romance, and drama lovers alike.

Sweet Serenity by: A.M. Gilliam

Sometimes you come across a book that is so delightful, you just want to share… ✌❤

Johnny– Welcome A.M. Gilliam, thank you for taking the time and talking with me today. Is ‘Sweet Serenity’ the first book that you’ve written?

A.M.- No, I actually wrote one book before that, but I wasn’t confident enough to publish it.

JohnnyReally! Please tell us a little bit about it if you don’t mind.

A.M I was a novel about 2 women, and their journey together. However, when I wrote it, I was very young, 18 years old. and back then, people weren’t as accepting of the LGBTQ community as they are now. Plus, I didn’t know that there was a huge writing community for LGBTQs within the overall community.

Johnny– Any chances that you might revisit that work someday and possibly publish?

A.M Yes, I actually thought about it recently. It will definitely need some rewriting but it’s a possibility. Almost a guarantee.

Johnny– I’ve got to admit that I was pleasantly surprised when I read your book ‘Sweet Serenity’ the story flowed and was fun to read, then it gets hot! I mean, like, erotica hot, has erotica always been something you wanted to write?

A.M.- Yes, to be honest. I have always been drawn to erotica and felt it was something I wanted to write. Some humans find interest in things like that, and I’m most definitely one of those humans.

Johnny- Personally,I think most people enjoy erotica but on different levels of intensity or descriptiveness, I’ve never really understood the media in this country because everything is so pro-violence and anti-sex (unless it’s violent), as a mother what is your opinion on this subject?

A.MI’m more of a lover, not a fighter. I do believe that violence is necessary to protect one’s family, but other than that, we should strive to resolve things with little to no violence. And speaking from experience. Violence begets violence. It becomes a cycle of chaos, when people use violence to solve things.

Johnny- How difficult is it for you to write sex scenes that are this hot? How do you keep it so tasteful?

A.M.- I’m not sure honestly. It plays in my head as if I’m watching my characters do the scenes themselves, and It kind of just flows from there. The sex scenes are the easiest part for me, because I try to keep it very natural. If the scenes feel like D budget porno’s, then that’s not a good scene to me.

Johnny- The sex in your book was defiantly tasteful, classy, and clean, yes, using your description “very natural.” Are you open to using a smuttier narrative if the scene was to call for it to sell your character? Or is that just not your style?

A.M If the scene was about a certain type of sexual person, i.e. a stripper, I’d definitely write a scene that’s more racy then was I usually write. Because the scene would need that to feel real.

Johnny– I have a confession, I had assumed that this was going to be the typical rich guy falling for the average girl type story, (sort of 50 Shades, less the BDSM) however, it took a turn on me, (not wanting to give away for those who haven’t read it yet), did this story line come to you before you started to write, or did you work the story line out as you were writing it?

A.M.- Sweet Serenity was completely impromptu. As I wrote the images came to me about the next scene, and I wrote it. As I kept writing, the story just took on a life of its own. The only thing I planned out regarding this book, was the character descriptions. Other than that, I let my imagination guide me.

Johnny – Is Romance the only genre you plan on writing?

A.M – No. I’m actually venturing out into the paranormal romance right now; with the book I’m currently working on.

Johnny– Do you have a “off limits” topic that you refuse to incorporate in your work?

A.M – No, I think writing is a way for me or anyone else to express themselves.

Johnny- I’m guessing that A.M. Gilliam is a pen name you use when you write, did any of your family read your book? If so, what was their feedback?

A.M – That’s actually my name. Just the initials for my first and middle name. My siblings have read it, and they weren’t shocked by the erotica or anything like that. I’ve always been a naturally sexual person and I guess it just seeped into my writing. However, I told my parents not to read it. It’s just a little too weird for them to read it. Almost like if they caught me having sex, and that’s not appealing to me LOL.

JohnnyThat’s funny! Do you think they snuck a peek?

A.M – I’d hope not! But in all seriousness. I’m not as worried about my mother reading it, as much as my father. I’m a daddy’s girl, so imagining him reading my books is a little sickening. LOL

Johnny -How long did it take you to write Sweet Serenity? Do you self-publish?

A.M – I was originally published by Next Century Publishing back in 2017, but they went out of business. Giving me the rights to self-publish my book. As of 2019, I’m self-publishing everything I write.

Johnny– Good for you! Any advice for any Indie Writers who are thinking of self-publishing?

A.M – It’s definitely hard, but once your work is complete, and you hold a copy of it  in your hands, your sense of pride is going to overshadow the lack of sleep, the writer’s block, basically everything that you had to face to get to that point. It’s a trying time, but it’s so worth it.

Johnny – Take me through your process of developing your characters, do you visualize anybody in particular when you are doing this?

A.M – yes, it’s usually someone I’ve seen before or even dreamed of that gives me the visuals for my books. For me visualization is important because novels aren’t just words, they’re movies, but on paper.

Johnny – If this was being made into a movie, tell me, who your cast would be?

A.M – I don’t have a preference on cast, as long as the actors fit the role. I feel that I would be more detailed with the music. I’m a lover of music, and I believe that it sets the tone of everything. If you have the right music playing, no matter what event, place, etc. You’ll be just fine.

Johnny– You have a new book that is getting ready to be released, can you give us a quick elevator pitch on what it’s about?

A.M – Yes, the title is called “Redemption” and It’s about second chances, and loving someone with mental illness, and having that love withstand the test of time. My main character Crystal suffers from a mental illness and other health problems that destroyed her relationship with Zane (the beau), 5 years ago. After some time apart, they meet, causing old wounds to open for them both. They face many things creating a journey they’ll have to walk through to get to the place of love, and stability within themselves and together.

You can pre-order now on Amazon and it will be available March 16th, 2020 for purchase on Amazon, and to rent via Kindle Unlimited.

REVIEW

What a delightful and refreshing read this has been. This was my first book by Ms. Gilliam and I think it safe to say that it won’t be my last. Her mind is a beautiful place and her talent is her ability and willingness to share.

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

This story flows and is very easy to digest, what seems like an innocent little romance tale quickly becomes hot dripping erotica that leaves very little to imagination, as innocent as it begins I was pleasantly surprised by how lusty it became and went on to be a story that satisfies all the way to the end.

What an amazing debut novel, it was refreshing, exhilarating, and very, very HOT!!

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

A.M. Gilliam is an author that I highly recommend as well as this book, if romance is your thing be prepared to get hot and bothered because the queen has arrived.

I gave Sweet Serenity 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ on both Goodreads and Amazon, if you haven’t read it you should. It will melt your face!!!
